Why are companies allowed to pilfer our public lands for free?

It is not something you think about every day. But companies are able to pump oil, mine for ore, log our forests, and extract our nation's natural resources -- and they pay practically nothing to do so.

Companies should pay a 10% tax for all revenues generated from the extraction of raw material from public lands.

These are OUR public lands!

25% minimum royalty for any raw materials extracted from public lands that are exported internationally.

This royalty would be introduced for logging and hard rock mining companies that currently pay $0 royalties to extract resources from public lands.

This royalty would be applies to all extractive industries for international export of raw materials outside the United States.

Reinstate a Ban on Crude Oil Exports to Bring Gasoline prices down.

For 40 years, between 1975 and 2015, the export of crude oil was banned, leading lower oil prices. We need to re-instate the ban on oil exports to bring prices at the pump back down.
